Lecturer in the Sociology Department at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho, Emília Araújo has a PhD in Sociology Sciences, in 2005, by the University of Minho. Currently serving as vice-president of the ICS, she is a former director of the Masters Degree in Sociology in the same institution.

She teaches in the field of methodologies, culture and tecnoscience and has been researching sociology of time, mobilities and science. She was the Principal Investigator of the project “Mobiscience- trajectories of portuguese researchers and knowledge circulation.

She is a member of the Portuguese Sociology Association and IAMCR, coordination the Portuguese Assocation for the Time and Society Studies.
