This book gathers a series of texts about death, as it is figured daily, with strangeness or familiarity, with words or images, by different media and by various cultural activities and objects. Fixing the textualities of death in journalistic discourse and the visualities of death in aesthetics and media techniques was also the goal of the international research project, which is the origin of this book.
The research project “O fluxo, a morte e o acontecimento mediático: linguagens, interações e imaginário”, currently at the University of Minho (Portugal) and at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), coordinated by Moisés de Lemos Martins and Paulo Bernardo Vaz, has received between 2014 and 2016 financial support of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Brazilian Science Foundation CAPES.
