The Basic School of Rates and the Refojos visited the University of Minho on World Radio Day to make videos and podcasts with the help of researchers from the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS).
The visit happened under the “Scientifically Probable” program, in which the two schools of Póvoa de Varzim signed up. Sara Pereira, the coordinator of the activity and researcher at CECS, explained the activity: “they explored the books and interviewed themselves, to jointly perceive which adjective best describes a book or how they characterize characters”.
After completing these tasks, about 40 students went to two separate rooms where they recorded, in turn, podcasts and videos. In recordings, while some were the protagonists of the videos, others dressed the role of filmmakers or were responsible for light and sound.
At the end of the day, students and teachers expressed total satisfaction with the initiative, stating that these activities are positive both for students and teachers in basic schools and for researchers and university teachers. The urge to repeat was unanimous.
