Communication Sciences Master

The Communication Sciences Master aims to deepen the knowledge acquired during the Licentiate studies, promoting students’ self-sufficiency and a closer contact with professional contexts, as well as theoretical and methodological references proper to the research development. It will be paid special attention to the communication ethic dimension, which should characterize all the contents, processes and work forms, and which should become a true culture between all the agents among the different areas on the field.

Structured in an ensemble of common subjects and in another of specific subjects with a theoretical and laboratorial nature, the curricular unities will be complemented by a placement in an enterprise or institution or by the integration in a research project. In all the cases, it must be presented a final report.

Specializations:

» Information and Journalism

This option promotes the deeper comprehension on what concerns the publicly relevant actuality gathering, selection, hierarchization, dissemination and reception processes. It encourages the knowledge and the integration in teams and other professional contexts and it develops research competences towards the journalistic phenomenon, in its present configuration, specially related to the digital networks and new media emergence.

» Advertising and Public Relations

This course deepens the theoretical, methodological and practical competences related to the studies and the activities relied on the persuasive and creative force and the messages efficacy, applied to products and services, from a strategical point of view. It encourages the organizational communication activities and the wide branch of advertising creation and production functions.

» Audiovisuals and Multimedia

Purposes the development of capacities for the creative and artistic communication within cross-media channels, through linear and non-linear narrativity.
Promotes aspects of applied research based in the foundational research on aesthetics and new technologies of sound and image and interactive media within professional team environments and through the development of solutions for real case scenarios.
