Bárbara Seco de Barros

Bárbara Seco is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Crime, Difference and Inequality from the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho. Her dissertation is focused on young people (16-21) under electronic monitoring in Portugal. Her main research interests, besides youth delinquency and electronic monitoring, are minorities and a focus on the role of class and gender in the studies of crime.

She was previously a researcher in the research project “Engage for SDG” at University of Minho (2022/2023), about young people’s engagement in social media with climate changes. She also is a member of Movimento Democrático de Mulheres – MDM, a social movement centered in women’s rights.
