Rafaela Granja participated as a speaker at the Criminology Week: Contemporary Challenges in Criminology, promoted by the University of Maia between May 19 and 23.
Her contribution was part of the session entitled “Electronic Monitoring: Present and Future Challenges”, where she presented and discussed some of the main issues that have emerged around the implementation of electronic monitoring in the Portuguese criminal justice system, both through radiofrequency and GPS technologies — the latter being used exclusively in cases of domestic violence and stalking.
During the event, Rafaela Granja also presented the Manual of Juvenile and Criminal Justice, recently published by Húmus, of which she is a co-coordinator. The book was highlighted as an important contribution to critical reflection on the juvenile and criminal justice systems in Portugal.
