4th Session “History(s) of the Present. The formation of the contemporary world”

April 5, at 10.30 am, is the date for another session of the cycle “History(s) of the Present. The formation of the contemporary world”. The session will take place in hybrid format, online and in the Sala de Atos of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho.

Marie-Luce Desgrandchamps, from the University of Geneva and the University of Fribourg, will participate with the topic “Africa, the Africans, and the Red Cross: Assessing the impact of the Long Second World War”, followed by Ana Guardião, from the University of Florence, with the topic “Developmental humanitarian shifts: the case of Angolan refugees in the Congo-Leopoldville (1961-1975)”.

Organised by Miguel Bandeira Jerónimo and José Pedro Monteiro, this seminar explores the colonial and decolonial dynamics of the UNESCO world heritage concept.
