Aníbal Alves, a CECS researcher, is the first Institutional Provider of the University of Minho. The inauguration ceremony will take place on June 28 at 11:00 p.m., in the Noble Hall of the UMinho, in Largo do Paço, together with the inauguration of the members of the Ethic Board of UMinho, among them, the researcher Manuel Pinto.
Aníbal Alves is professor emeritus of the Department of Communication Sciences. He graduated from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium), belonging to the generation that, in the post-25th of April, started with the higher education in Social Communication in Portugal. At UMinho he was vice-rector, president of the Institute of Social Sciences and director of the Department of Communication Sciences, the Center for Historical and Social Sciences and the Center for Lusiad Studies. He was also the first president of the Portuguese Association of Communication Sciences (SOPCOM).
Will be part of the Ethics Board the CECS researcher, Manuel Pinto. Manuel Pinto is a Full Professor at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho, where he teaches in Journalism Studies and Media Literacy. He is the Director of the Ph.D. in Communication Sciences at UMinho.
The Ethics Board will be chaired by retired professor Graciete Dias, including professors Cecilia Leão, Acílio Rocha, Miguel Gonçalves, students Douglas Weber and Alexandra Miranda, the superior technique Isabel Monteiro, as well as professors José Gomes Canotilho, Jorge Paiva (both from the University of Coimbra), José Manuel Mendes (Portuguese Writers Association) and Lucília Nunes (Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal).
