The seventh edition of the “European Communication Conference” in Lugano (Switzerland), under the theme “Centers and Peripheries: Communication, Research, Translation” will begin on 31 October. During the conference, the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) will publish its proposal to receive the next edition of the conference in Portugal.
Helena Sousa, a CECS’ researcher and president of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho, will present the details of the application to ECREA 2020, scheduled for October 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2020, and will be entitled “Communication and Trust: building safe, sustainable and promising futures“.
Anabela Carvalho, Ana Duarte Melo, Helena Sousa and Madalena Oliveira, researchers of the CECS, will be moderators of some panels inserted in the sections of ECREA of which they are chair: Anabela Carvalho will moderate the session “Climate change news and journalism”, Ana Duarte Melo will coordinate the session “Corporate communication” and Madalena Oliveira will be responsible for the session “Radio, cultural identities and active listening”. Helena Sousa will be the coordinator of the special session on “The English language in academia: Identifying power structures, denaturalizing daily choices”.
In the four days of the conference, CECS will also participate in panels dedicated to journalism, public service, media production, citizenship and gender, Publicity, radio and sound literacy, participation, among other topics.
