On the 30th of April, at 5:00 p.m., at the Multimedia Auditorium (Institute of Education), the “Meeting with Researchers: dialogues on science policy” will take place, with the presence of the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor.
Besides celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS), this session aims to establish an open dialogue between Minister Manuel Heitor and CECS researchers, reflecting on consensus, controversies and science policies in Portugal.
In this dialogue, researchers from different generations and scientific areas of CECS will be heard, as well as the public present. Researchers Moisés de Lemos Martins, Teresa Ruão, Ece Canli and Tiago Vieira da Silva will be in conversation with Manuel Heitor.
Minister Manuel Heitor will participate in several activities organised by the University of Minho. Two of these activities count with the involvement of elements from CECS:
– Oral presentation of the candidate projects to the UMinho Award for Initiation in Scientific Research 2020. The project “Images and narratives of interculturality: young people, cinema and history”, coordinated by Moisés de Lemos Martins, is one of the candidates to the award.
– presentation of posters with the results of the work developed by the scholarship holders of the “Summer with Science” programme. “Africas: mobility, violence, memory and creativity”, coordinated by João Sarmento, and “Summer School in Communication and Culture for Development”, coordinated by Lurdes Macedo, were the two projects developed by CECS researchers.
Participation by invitation.
