CECS obtains seven FCT Tenure positions

CECS had all seven positions requested under the FCT Tenure competition approved: four for assistant researchers in Communication Sciences; one for assistant professor in Communication Sciences; one for assistant researcher in Geography and one for assistant researcher in Sociology.

The CECS applications were based on the scientific areas in which the centre can recruit and the distribution of currently existing positions for researchers without career contracts.

Designed with the aim of promoting the hiring of doctoral graduates for permanent positions, the programme’s main objective is to strengthen the professional stabilisation of researchers and their lines of research.

Among the 12 organic units of the University of Minho, the Institute of Social Sciences – to which CECS belongs – was one of three to achieve a 100 per cent success rate in the first edition of FCT-Tenure.

This co-funding programme – with funds from tax revenue and the PRR’s Science Plus Training Measure – promotes the creation of 1,100 vacancies and will allow doctoral graduates to enter research and teaching careers.
