CALL FOR PAPERS

Communication and Society Research Centre, University of Minho – Portugal
Theme: Lusophone studies and Communication Sciences
Volume coordinators: Moisés de Lemos Martins (CECS-UM, Portugal), Alda Costa (Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, Moçambique) and Isabel Macedo (CECS-UM, Portugal).

Papers on the following topics should be submitted:
– Media, citizenship and democracy in the Portuguese-speaking world
– Colonialism, post-colonialism and social memory
– Globalization and Trans-cultural and Trans-national Identity-based Narratives
– Language policies in Portuguese-speaking countries;
– Policies on communication and culture, hegemonic cultures and cultural subalternization
– Communication of scientific knowledge, open access to knowledge, digital repositories and virtual museums
– Info-technologies and info-exclusion in the Portuguese-speaking world;
– Cyberspace as a new public space for the Portuguese language;
– Production of digital content (cultural and artistic) in Portuguese;
– The Orthographic Agreement in the daily lives of Portuguese-speaking citizens;
– Communication and development in the Portuguese-speaking world

 

The proposed papers should be sent by 15/05/2018, in accordance with the requirements stipulated below. Publication is scheduled for December 2018.

Editing and submission
“Comunicação e Sociedade” (Communication and Society) is a peer reviewed journal with double blind review. Each submitted work will be delivered to two previously invited reviewers, who will evaluate it in function of its academic quality, originality and its relevance to the objectives and scope of the theme of this issue [http://revistacomsoc.pt].

– Original papers must be submitted in Portuguese or in English. Authors are responsible for translation into the second language, but translations may only be submitted after confirmation of the paper’s acceptance for publication.
