The book Cibercultura: Circum-navegações em Redes Transculturais de Conhecimento, Arquivos e Pensamento [Cyberculture: Circum-navigations in Transcultural Networks of Knowledge, Archives and Thought], is coordinated by Helena Pires, Manuel Curado, Fábio Ribeiro and Pedro Andrade, and has the stamp of Edições Húmus/CECS, and arises from the organization of a congress with the same name, held on October 13 and 14, 2016, at the University of Minho (Braga).
Cibercultura: Circum-navegações em Redes Transculturais de Conhecimento, Arquivos e Pensamento is a publication that counts on valuable contributions by researchers enrolled in the most varied disciplinary areas, from philosophy, aesthetics, digital art, sociology, urban culture, communication sciences, media studies, social and cultural anthropology, multimedia, computer science, literature, design, computer graphics, neurosciences, among others. This book is the result of a scientific meeting held at the University of Minho in 2016 at the Institute of Social Sciences. At the same meeting, new possibilities for future research were woven, persistent problems were discussed, concerted efforts were made in an attempt to understand the more complex phenomena, but also those of a more prosaic and apparently banal nature, concerning the transformations implied in the our relationship with contemporary technologies.
