On 10 December, at 6.30pm, the fifth session of the Ágora de Cá cycle, from the series ‘What can Art do?’ will take place at zet gallery, with the sub-theme ‘What can museums do? What can we expect from museums?’. In this debate, we propose rethinking together the social function of the museum, not as something closed or predefined, but rather as a continuous construction, a space for debate, open to antagonisms and contradictions.
The speakers will be Carmen Mörsch, professor of art education at the Johannes-Gutenberg University School of Arts in Mainz, Germany, and Mário Moutinho, architect, lecturer and researcher in the field of museology.
The moderator will be Ece Canli, member of Passeio and researcher at CECS – Centre for Communication and Society Studies at the University of Minho.
The project is organised by zet gallery in partnership with Passeio, with the support of dstgroup and the Centre for Communication and Society Studies (CECS) at the University of Minho.
