Culture, Arts, Communities and Participation series: 3rd Session

The third session of the ‘Culture, Arts, Communities and Participation’ series of meetings will take place on 10 July. This is an initiative of the CECS’s ‘Culture, Arts and Communities’ research group, coordinated by Manuel Gama and Micaela Altamirano.

This session, facilitated by Fabiano Assis, is entitled “DIALOGUES ON INCLUSIVE METHODOLOGIES: THE CIRCUS AS A POTENTIAL INCLUSIVE TOOL” and will take place at INAC – the National Institute of Circus Arts – in Vila Nova de Famalicão, starting at 3.00 pm.

According to the organisers, the activities in this series aim to ensure that communities play a leading role within the university’s learning environment, particularly within the context of the CECS’s line of research on Culture, Arts and Communities. They are based on the understanding that community-based practices and the practitioners who implement them play a fundamental role in the production of knowledge, both in the academic context and in society at large. In this regard, the proposals aim to promote the exchange of knowledge, the sharing of working methodologies and the identification of synergies for the development of new and diverse initiatives that involve communities and the university in a collaborative and horizontal manner.
