Regina Brito and Ana Lúcia Trevisan were the guests of the II Meeting of the Tordesillas Doctoral College “Languages, Societies and Cultures” that took place last 16 November.
After a morning team meeting, researchers from the Mackenzie Presbyterian University in Brazil taught the open class “Languages, Societies and Cultures – Communication Challenges in Multilinguistic Contexts”, whose objective was to discuss the identity dynamics and the communication challenges in multilingual contexts.
Regina Brito began by contextualizing the project of the Tordesillas Doctoral College, but went on to present it on Brazil’s cooperation programs with other Portuguese-speaking countries, namely Mozambique and Timor-Leste. Ana Lúcia Trevisan addressed issues related to the images of Brazilian history and culture in the narrative of the writer Milton Hatoum.
The meeting was organized by the CECS through the Ph.D. program in Cultural Studies and the Permanent Seminar on Communication and Diversity and moderated by the CECS researcher, Rosa Cabecinhas.
