The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has published the announcement of the opening of the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus Competition (8th Edition). According to the information available on the FCT website, applications will be accepted from 15 December 2025 to 29 January 2026. Confirmation by the host institutions will take place from 30 January to 13 February 2026.
The Centre for Communication and Society Studies (CECS) will accept applications that demonstrate high potential for integration into the centre’s scientific strategy. Therefore, candidates who wish to have CECS as their host institution should submit their proposal via the online form by 5 January 2026.
In January, the CECS plans to hold an information session on this competition, seeking to clarify the stages of the application process (documents and useful information).
The Individual Competition is aimed at PhD holders, nationals, foreigners and stateless persons, with a background in any scientific area, who wish to develop their scientific research or technological development activity in Portugal.
Applications must be submitted in English via the electronic platform to be made available in due course by the FCT.
