Annual Conference of the Doctoral Programme in Sociology

The Annual Conference of the Doctoral Programme in Sociology takes place on 8 October, starting at 10 am, with the participation of Ramón Ramos. Dedicated to the theme “The Future as a Challenge for Sociology”, the session will also feature Helena Machado’s commentary and Emília Araújo’s moderation.

Ramón Ramos Torre (Madrid, 1949) is an Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology of the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). He has been President of the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas and has held various academic positions at the UCM. He has directed the journals Política y Sociedad and the Revista Española de Investigaciones Sociológicas and is a member of several editorial or advisory boards. He is the author of numerous articles published in social science journals and intellectual debate magazines.
His fields of expertise and publications include Classical and contemporary sociological theory, Historical Sociology, Sociology of Time, Sociology of Risk.

The conference is open to the whole community and will take place on the Zoom platform.
