Conference “Quality in Journalism”

The Conference “Quality in Journalism” will be held on June 22.

The event will highlight the importance of journalism studies to the CECS activity since its creation in 2001. On the other hand, it will point to the need to renew scientific thinking about journalistic production in the current global context of communication and propose approaching it from a debate on its quality(s).

The programme starts at 9h30 a.m. with the opening conference by Spanish researcher Dolors Palau (University of Valencia), whose scientific career has addressed an important set of issues related to journalistic production, from the study of genres and the evolution of narrative forms of journalism to journalistic quality. A round table will follow with the presence of several journalists, representing many other sensitivities about the topic of quality.

The conference will close with the presentation and discussion of seven papers sent by the scientific community to the call for papers.

The organization of this conference is the responsibility of the research line on Media and Journalism and the Barometer for Information Quality of the CECS.
