International Congress “Festivities, Cultures and Communities: Heritage and Sustainability”

The International Congress “Festivities, Cultures and Communities: Heritage and Sustainability” took place on May 4, 5 and 6.

The event, organized by the “Festivity – Festivities, Cultural Heritage and Community Sustainability” research project team, provided a meeting point and a place for debating the ongoing research on festivities. It focused on the relationship between festivals and communities, encompassing festive cultures and identities, the (re)valorization of tradition and cultural and territorial sustainability. Methodological issues in the study of festivals, the relationship between festivals, culture and power, and the influence of technology and digitalization were also debated.
