Literacy, Media and Citizenship Congress overcame the organization expectations

After the fourth edition of the Literacy, Media and Citizenship Congress, the evaluation made by the organizing committee is very positive. According to Sara Pereira, head of the committee, this year edition overcame “all expectations”.

“The participants’ feedback is very positive, as it is being shown in informal talks and in the ongoing evaluation inquiry”, explained Sara Pereira. The researcher from CECS also said that the different activities carried out during the congress – the plenary and the parallel sessions, the workshops, and mainly the tribute to the late Professor Paquete de Oliveira – fulfilled their purposes, having just positive comments.

Between the 5th and the 6th May more than 200 participants went to the event held in Engenheiro António de Almeida Foundation, in Oporto. The congress proceedings will be available by the end of November.

The Literacy, Media and Citizenshio Congress is organized every two years by GILM, an informal group for Media Literacy. CECS is represented by the researchers Sara Pereira and Manuel Pinto.
