On April 30, the day of Associativism, the CECS promoted a debate on Communicating in Associations. With the participation of Civitas, Synergia, Plano i and ASPA, the debate resulted in the project of creating a network of Braga’s associations.
In the debate, the representatives presented the mission of each of the associations, specifying the communication strategies used and highlighting the difficulties experienced. With distinct activities, all associations mentioned the need to identify a target audience, adapting to them the media channels to be used. The difficult relationship with the national media was one of the difficulties pointed out by almost all the associations. The bet on social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and the primacy of email was the strategy that met with more consensus.
With different contexts and purposes, the present associations came to the conclusion that they need to invest in communication and that this can be done with the help of entities such as the University of Minho and CECS. The idea of a new meeting and the creation of a network of associations of the city of Braga were the main results of this debate that took place in Setra Bar, in the historical center of Braga.
