XI CECS Doctoral Conference programme available

The programme for the 9th CECS Doctoral Conference is now available. The scientific event will be held on December 4 and 5 in the Sala de Atos of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho.

José Luís Garcia, from the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Lisbon, is the guest speaker for the opening conference on ‘Ethics in the Social Sciences’. The first day will also be marked by a ‘PhD ProjectPitch “, with Isabel Macedo, from the Communication and Society Research Centre, and by the session ”Well-being throughout the PhD: Time Management and Anxiety’, with Joana Matos and Tânia Gonçalves, from the School of Psychology at the University of Minho.

The second day of the conference will be marked by a round table discussion on ‘Ethics in Scientific Publishing’ with Sandra Marinho and Marisa Mourão from the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS). This will be followed by a ‘Pitch presentation for the Impacto Award’ with Pedro Chamusca, also from the CECS. The winner of the prize will be announced at 15.30.

The XI Doctoral Conferences aim to strengthen the research work carried out at CECS at the doctoral level, providing spaces for dialogue and debate where participants can make new contributions to their project. They also aim to enable the exchange of experiences and constructive critical evaluation. The conference is open to everyone, although the academic community linked to the fields of Social Sciences that comprise the CECS is particularly invited.

In addition to the students, whose active and constructive participation is expected, CECS researchers with work on the proposed themes and those responsible for the scientific supervision of doctoral and post-doctoral projects will contribute to the debate and critical scrutiny.
