The Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho will host the VIII Doctoral Conference on October 13 and 14, 2010, at its Sala de Atos. The programme is already available.
The VIII Doctoral Conference of the CECS invites PhD and post-doctoral students in Communication Sciences, Cultural Studies, Sociology and Geography to share experiences, questions, achievements or outcomes related to their projects.
The scientific event seeks to give visibility and strengthen the research work of CECS’ PhD students, provide spaces for dialogue and debate, and enable the exchange of experiences and constructive critical evaluation. It is open to the participation of all and particularly to the academic community in the areas of Social Sciences which integrate the CECS.
The students will have active and constructive participation, and the CECS’ researchers with work developed in the proposed themes will contribute to the debate and critical scrutiny, along with the scientific advisors of doctoral and post-doctoral projects.
The VIII Conference will extend over two days with a conference and several debate panels. The conference “Communicating – between digital and analogue: back to the future or back to basics?” will take place on the first day of work and will be held by Manuel Pinto. The session will be broadcast online at CECS’s YouTube.
