Doctoral students of Cultural Studies celebrate the centenary of Sophia de Mello Breyner’s birth

On July 18, at 9:30 pm, at the Letraria – Beer Craft Library Braga, the PhD students of Cultural Studies carried out an initiative to commemorate the centenary of Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen’s birth, entitled “Unlikely Places with Sophia ”

In a moment of sharing and interaction with the right to a full house, 43 poems were selected that reflect the author’s life in evocative themes about love, loss, sensuality, regeneration, hope and freedom.

As broad as Sophia’s repertoire was the intimate interpretation of the doctoral students. The poems were declaimed by people from three continents where the Portuguese language is present: Europe, South America and Africa, so the evening was also a tribute to Lusophonia.
