The Summer School “Knowledge and practice: qualitative methodologies in social sciences” will occur between June 6 and 9, 2022, at the Institute of Social Sciences, University of Minho.
Organized by the Communication and Society Research Centre, it is an opportunity for students, professionals, and young researchers to deepen their knowledge, train the application of qualitative methodologies in the social sciences, and establish and/or consolidate professional and academic networks.
The Summer School will involve training sessions, workshops, and feedback moments from colleagues and experienced researchers to foster interaction and critical thinking. A social and cultural program is also planned.
The team of trainers includes national and international lecturers and researchers from different scientific areas – communication sciences, education, cultural studies, history, psychology and sociology – with extensive and consolidated experience in qualitative research methodologies applied to themes such as migration, visual culture, postcolonial studies, social minorities, prisons, criminal investigation, psychotropic territories, amongst others.
