The inaugural conference of the Permanent Seminar “Communication and Diversity” was given by Professor Moisés de Lemos Martins, who developed an “Essay on Diversity: the Other as a Totality and an Infinite.” It took place on September 14 at 11:00 a.m. ICS acts room and was moderated by Professor Zara Pinto-Coelho, coordinator of the Research Group on Cultural Studies.
The Permanent Seminar on Communication and Diversity was created by researchers from the Cultural Studies Group of CECS with the aim of promoting the discussion based on different theoretical, methodological and empirical approaches in the area.
The initiative aims to bring together researchers from different disciplinary areas who work on communication and diversity issues, and who consider that this space can be fruitful for their research and / or intervention work. At the same time, it aims to foster dialogue between academia, organizations and professionals from a wide range of communication areas and civil society.
The main objectives of this seminar are the sharing of information and experiences among members; integration of emerging researchers in the field of communication and diversity; debate on ongoing research in the area and other civil society projects and networking with various organizations and collectives at national and international level.
