Under a protocol established between the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG), the Institute of Social Sciences and the Center for Studies on Communication and Society (CECS) of the University of Minho, four thematic sessions will be held under The title “Has the Information Gender?”.
This initiative is the result of several training actions for journalists and communication professionals in general, carried out in recent years by the CIG in partnership with CENJOR – Protocol Center for Professional Training for Journalists and is part of the V Plan For Gender Equality, Citizenship and Non-Discrimination.
The sessions will take place on December 12 and 13, in the engineering amphitheater (University of Minho-Braga) and will be addressed to students and professors of communication courses, researchers, communication professionals and non-governmental organizations in the field of citizenship and gender equality. Speakers at the sessions will be Carla Cerqueira (CECS researcher), Orlando César, journalist (professor at the Higher Education School of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal and trainer at Cenjor), Sofia Branco (Lusa journalist and president of the Syndicate of Journalists) and Sónia Soares (activist of the Women’s Alternative and Response Union, a researcher at the Observatory of Assassinated Women).
