On January 20, at 5 pm, a public session will be held to present the diagnosis of Guimarães’ culture prepared and conducted by the Observatory of Science, Communication and Culture Policies (PolObs) of the Communication and Society Research Centre at the University of Minho (CECS/UMinho). The event, open to the whole community, will be held in the Small Auditorium of the Vila Flor Cultural Centre in Guimarães. The session aims to promote public discussion on the cultural dynamics of the municipality.
The document represents the outcome of the first phase of the Guimarães 2032 Municipal Strategic Plan and was scientifically developed by Manuel Gama, a researcher at the CECS and co-coordinator of PolObs, in collaboration with Municipality of Guimarães and stakeholders from the local cultural sector.
This diagnostic process spanned 10 months and involved over 600 people. Interviews, discussion groups, document analysis, direct observation and questionnaire surveys were carried out.
