The Gustavo Pinto Lopes Municipal Library will host the 2nd PolObs Meeting on Cultural Policies on 12 June from 2pm to 5.30pm. The focus will be on ‘Impacts, Indicators, Monitoring and Evaluation of Cultural Policies’, which will be debated on the basis of practical cases such as the implementation of the Torres Novas Municipal Strategic Plan for Culture and the Torres Novas municipality’s adherence to the Commitment to Social Impact of Cultural Organisations (CISOC).
The event is organised by the Municipality of Torres Novas and PolObs (Observatory of Science, Communication and Culture Policies, of the Centre for Communication and Society Studies at the University of Minho), following on from the 1st edition held in Portimão last year.
These meetings to discuss cultural policies are an initiative of PolObs and came about to mark the 50th anniversary of 25 April 1974 and the 50th anniversary of the first elections to elect local bodies after the Carnation Revolution, which took place on 12 December 1976.
Participation in the 2nd PolObs Meeting on Cultural Policies is free, subject to prior registration at: http://www.lasics.uminho.pt/limesurvey/index.php/764917?lang=pt
