Implementation of DTT “penalized a lot Portugal”

Sérgio Denicoli, researcher at CECS, was the guest of the RUM program “UM I&D” on 6 April. The author of the doctoral thesis on the implementation of Digital Terrestrial Television in Portugal regrets the consequences for the country of the whole process. He has no doubts that “DTT was made not to work, to fail, to offer few channels and limited interactive services, in order to encourage the migration of the population to subscription TV services”. Sérgio Denicoli arrived in Portugal in 2004 to hold a master’s degree in communication. This was followed by the PhD, concluded in 2012.
