The 9th edition of the “7 Days with the Media” initiative will take place on the 3rd and 9th of May. Started in 2013, the Informal Group on Media Literacy (GILM) initiative invites all citizens and institutions to create an action (workshop, webinar, video, presentation, podcast, game, etc.) with a focus on the media and its uses.
This year, and in the context of the confinement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization invites us to reflect on the importance and impact caused by screens in our daily lives, from study, to telework, to entertainment. At a time when the media has become even more present, it is essential to think about how they “help us to form our opinions [and] how they build our perception of the world”.
It is in this sense that GILM proposes infodemia, misinformation and social and digital inequalities as central themes of the edition, while inviting everyone to register their activities on the initiative’s website.
