CECS researcher is part of InnovaMedia

Pedro Jerónimo, a CECS researcher in Media and Journalism, is one of two Portuguese researchers to be part of InnovaMedia.

The project aims to promote research on innovative practices, methodologies and prototypes applied to the media sector, with an emphasis on journalism. It is also the goal of this group of researchers to develop the exchange of ideas and standards on innovation in journalism around the world, as well as to establish a growing network of partners who actively support initiatives to find creative solutions to the problems facing the media today. InnovaMedia also wants to promote relations between innovation laboratories and Science and Technology Parks, as well as public policies to develop local systems of innovation.

The Portuguese team consists of Pedro Jerónimo and João Canavilhas. Pedro Jerónimo is a researcher at CECS and a Ph.D. in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms, in 2014, from the University of Porto and the University of Aveiro. He is currently Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Miguel Torga, where he lectures in the area of Digital Communication and where he is co-scientific coordinator of the Degree in Multimedia and member of the Scientific and Pedagogical Councils.
