Graduated in Physics from UFMG/Brazil in 1985. From 1986 to 2002, he taught in secondary and higher education. In 1990 and 1991, he coordinated the project: Methods for Analysing Works of Art at CECOR, UFMG. In 1995, he obtained a master’s degree in Nuclear Sciences and Techniques from UFMG and, in 2001, a doctorate in Sciences/Chemistry from UFMG and the Freie Universitӓt in Berlin/Germany.

Since 2002, he has been a researcher at the Nuclear Technology Development Centre (CDTN) in Belo Horizonte/Brazil. He has dedicated himself to applications around the TRIGA nuclear reactor, education and scientific dissemination activities.

Between 2001 and 2021, he worked at the Environmental Secretariat in Belo Horizonte, monitoring electromagnetic radiation emitted by mobile phone antennas, public communication and community relations on the subject.

As a visiting researcher at CECS, he will focus on science communication.
