Ana Santos

Ana Santos is a PhD student in Communication Sciences at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho, where she conducts research focused on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on television and journalism, seeking to analyse how these technologies contribute to the reconfiguration of journalistic practices.
She graduated in Communication Sciences in 2006 from the Fernando Pessoa University (UFP), Porto, after an extracurricular internship at TVI. In 2023, she completed her master’s degree in Communication Sciences, specialising in Communication Technologies, also at UFP.
Her main activity is in the academic field. As a technician at the Television Laboratory of the Fernando Pessoa University since 2008, she coordinates the service and provides pedagogical support to the practical component of the curricular units in the area of television journalism and video. At the same time, in a fruitful combination of the academic training environment and the professional field of television production, she works as a freelance image reporter, collaborating regularly and permanently with SIC since 2013.
In line with his professional career, she maintains a focus on the journalism-television-technology triangle for his scientific career.
