Ângelo Martingo, PhD in Philosophy (Sheffield); MA in Music in performance (Reading), Degree in Music (École Normale de Musique, Paris).

He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Minho, where he teaches the Sociology of Music. His research interests focus on the social and communicative dimensions of musical production, interpretation and reception (critical theory, expression, cognition). His most recent publications include Razão, Expressão e Cognição nas Práticas Musicais: Composição, Interpretação, Receção (Húmus, 2018), A Música e o Corpo (Co-ed., Letras&Coisas, 2018), and Musica Instrumentalis (Co-ed., Húmus, 2019), Musica Humana (Ed., Húmus, 2020).
