Her academic career has been multidisciplinary from the beginning to the present, combining her two lines of training and research: Communication Sciences and Political Science and Administration.

Specialised in the study of digital journalism and digital political communication, she has more than 130 publications (47 journal articles and more than 80 books and book chapters in publishers with quality indexes such as Routledge, Springer, Palgrave or McGraw Hill). In total, she has participated in more than 150 mainly international conferences.

Since 1998, she has participated continuously in projects obtained in competitive calls for proposals and almost 20 contracts with companies and continuous participation in research networks with cross-border results.

She has woven international networks in Europe (ETN-2020), Lusophone, Latin American and Arab countries with researchers who participated in its latest projects.
