A journalist who graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, she has a specialisation in Communication and Health from Fiocruz, a master’s degree in Communication and Culture also from Eco/UFRJ and a doctorate in Social Services from UFRJ.

She is a post-doctoral fellow at the Centre for Communication and Society Studies (CECS) at Minho University in Portugal.

She is a public servant at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (at the Joaquim Venâncio Polytechnic School of Health), where she works as a journalist, teacher and researcher. Her main area of interest and study is the relationship between journalism, ideology, counter-hegemony and, more recently, disinformation.
