Elaine Trindade holds a PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of Minho, awarded with the highest distinction. She also holds a Master’s degree in Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Her research explores the intersection between visual studies, digital culture, decolonial theory and contemporary museology, with a particular focus on the relationships between image, memory and the imaginary in digital environments. Throughout her career, she has participated in various research projects at the Centre for Communication and Society Studies (CECS). She was a PhD fellow through the Foundation for Science and Technology (UI/BD/151121/2021). Her interests centre on the reconfigurations of aesthetic experience in digital contexts, the circulation of images on digital platforms, and the construction of cultural imaginaries in the Portuguese-speaking world, from a critical decolonial perspective.
