Filipa Correia is a PhD student in Sociology (FCT research grant), with the project “‘Us and the others’: the problem of social integration of refugees”.

She worked as a researcher at the P5 Medicine Center Association of the UMinho School of Medicine (Jan.2022-Dec.2023), where she developed the research project “Understanding how to improve prevention of HIV infection in young Men who have Sex with Men, living in Portugal”, funded by the pharmaceutical company “Merck Sharp & Dohme LDA”.

She collaborated as a research intern (Feb.2019-Feb.2021) with the SHARE project – Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe.

She has a master’s degree in Sociology, with a specialization in Social Policies, and a degree in Nursing and Communication Sciences, all from the University of Minho. As part of her master’s degree, she wrote a dissertation entitled “Economic conditions or material deprivation and the physical health of Europeans Aged 50 and Over: a study based on the SHARE Project”.
