Helena Mendes Pereira was born in Vila Real and lives in Braga. She develops her professional activity as a cultural manager, curator, teacher and researcher in contemporary cultural and artistic practices and policies.

She has a degree in Art History (FLUP); attended a specialization in Museology (FLUP) and a post-graduation in Arts Management (UCP, Porto); holds a Master’s degree in Art and Culture Communication (ICS – UMinho); and a PhD in Communication Sciences (ICS – UMinho), with a thesis on Curatorship as a communication process of Contemporary Art.

She is, since January 2017, the general director and curator of zet gallery located in Braga and linked to the DST group. In this context, she was responsible for the curatorship and organization of all the gallery’s projects, as well as expanding its scope to the curatorship of artworks and programming for public space, also expanding its competencies from the management point of view.
