Joana Cruz is a PhD student in Sociology at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Minho. Her research project, “The Perspectives of the Future of the Young People and their Effects and Reflections: A Qualitative Study,” is being developed under the scientific guidance of PhD Emília Araújo and PhD Daniela Monteiro.
Joana holds a degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Crime, Difference, and Inequality. Her investigation focused on “Unravelling Interethnic Relations: Identifying Stigmatising and/or Discriminatory Behaviours in the Context of Reinsertion on an Educational Centre.
In addition to her academic pursuits, the PhD student has undergone numerous complementary programmes such as “Advanced Specialization in Systemic Familiar Intervention”. She has extensive experience in various areas, including youth, social and familiar interactions, social inequality, racial and ethnic discrimination, systemic intervention, fieldwork and empirical observation.
