João Lourenço Monteiro holds a degree in Biology, a master’s degree in Developmental Biology and a Ph.D. in History and Philosophy of Sciences. He works as a researcher in the field of History and as a Science Communicator. In his doctoral research, he delved into the production and dissemination of medical knowledge at the Institute of Tropical Medicine during the period of Estado Novo. He employs Digital Humanities tools applied to History, in his work. Currently, he is affiliated with CECS – UMinho.
