Miguel Ângelo Sousa, born in Matosinhos, has a degree in Civil Protection Engineering and a master’s degree in Civil Protection from the Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário do Porto. Since late 2020, he has been working as a senior technician at the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Matosinhos, within the scope of planning and risk analysis and fire safety in buildings (SCIE).
He is also a fire safety consultant in different entities, working as a fire safety designer in buildings in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th risk categories and as a trainer in these areas. He also provides consultancy on the SEVESO directive, explosive atmospheres, environmental impact studies and rural fires. He is also a guest lecturer at Universidade Lusófona —Porto for training and curricular units on emergency planning, risk and vulnerability analysis and self-protection measures.
