Nobre Roque dos Santos is Professor of Psycholinguistics and Pedagogical Practices in the Portuguese Department, at the Pedagogical University (UP) of Maputo and was Rector of the Zambezi University.
Born in the city of Beira, he holds a PhD in Linguistics / Speech from the Department of Languages and Cultures at the University of Aveiro (Portugal), a Master’s Degree in Education/Curriculum from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (Brazil), Post-graduate in teaching Portuguese, Foreign Language from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto (Portugal) and Degree in Portuguese Teaching from the Pedagogical University (Maputo – Mozambique). He was a teacher in primary, secondary, high school and since 2000 he has been a university teacher. He has taught several disciplines, including the following: Portuguese Language, Techniques of Expression in Portuguese, Psycholinguistics, Pedagogical Practices, Curriculum Development, Scientific Research Methodologies, Teaching and Learning Theories and Linguistic Anthropology. He has already led several continuing education courses for teachers in basic, secondary and university education in Mozambique. Did the linguistic revision of the basic teaching manuals, the Agriculture Manual for Teacher Training, the Livestock Manual for Teacher Training, the Portuguese Language Training Module – 1st cycle of Basic Education EP1e participated in the elaboration of the current Portuguese programs for General Secondary Education (8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades) in Mozambique.
He is co-author of the Portuguese Language Modules I and II for the Mozambique Primary Teacher Training Institutes; co-author of the Portuguese Didactics Manual for the Escola Superior Aberta (ESA) of the Polytechnic University and the Manual of Pedagogical Practices; he is the author of the book The Situation of Portuguese and Language Teaching in Mozambique and co-author of the book Techniques of Expression in Portuguese. The author has participated in several national and international conferences and congresses and published articles in international magazines on various topics.
