PhD in Sociology, Faculty of Arts, University of Porto, since July 2016, post-graduated in Design, Management and Evaluation of Projects in Partnership, by Universidade Católica Portuguesa, completed in 2007, and graduated in International Relations, by Minho, completed in 1993.
She has extensive professional experience of more than 20 years in regional development processes and in-depth knowledge of political action instruments and their social and economic impacts, as well as theoretical and practical knowledge about how institutions work.
All her professional activity, as a Sociologist, takes place in the domain of regional development and public policies, the empowerment of the territory, organizations and people. In the field of scientific research, she is mainly interested in political and development sociology, public policies, institutions, social recompositions and territory.
She is the author of several publications, including the book The M(in)isterium of Territory Development – on the social and political construction of Vale do Ave between 1985-2013 (2017).
