PhD in Communication Sciences, in Journalism Studies, by the University of Minho in 2012, Sandra Marinho is a Lecturer in this institution, where she teaches mainly in the area of Research Methodologies and Journalism.
Her primary research subjects are journalism education and health journalism/communication. She has published “Journalism and Formation in Transition: models and constructions in the Portuguese case” (CECS – UMinho, 2015) and the scientific article, in co-authorship, “Medical error in the Portuguese press: when patients are part of the news“.
She is a member of several research assocations worldwide, such as IAMCR, ECREA, ICA and AEJMC (Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication).
