Holder of a PhD in Law from the University of A Coruna (Spain) (2021), she is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of A Coruna and a visiting researcher at the Communication and Society Research Centre (CECS) at the University of Minho. She holds an LLM in “International Law: Crime, Justice and Human Rights” from the University of Birmingham (2014), and has been a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for International and Comparative Criminal Law in Freiburg (Germany) and the Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands). Her main research interests are human trafficking, gender and migration studies, and the use of AI in the criminal justice system. In particular, the project to be developed in Braga addresses the role of AI as an active part in the commission of crimes.
