Yaqun Li earned her Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Minho (2021) with a dissertation entitled “The Application and Development of Traditional Family Theory in Contemporary China.”

She is currently carrying out her PhD research in Sociology at the University of Minho, with the doctoral thesis entitled “Filial piety as the Foundation of Chinese Culture in postmodernity—the Case of Chinese Immigrants in Portugal.” Engaged as a Working Group member in COST Action, her research delves into family dynamics within migration contexts, focusing on gender roles, family relationships, and childhood experiences within transnational families.
