CECS researchers present book in 60 years of RTP Porto

RTP Porto turned 60 years old on October 20th. As part of the anniversary celebrations, was presented the book “RTP. 60 years in Porto”, by seven CECS researchers.

Manuel Pinto, Joaquim Fidalgo, Joana Fillol, Felisbela Lopes, Madalena Oliveira, Sara Pereira and Luís António Santos are the authors of the work that explores RTP’s six decades of life in Porto and several of its dimensions, such as Information, Programming, Children’s programs or the Telescola.

“It is a valuable tribute to our colleagues who have made a tremendous effort and also a way to look back and understand the future”, Isabel Correia, director of the Northern Production Center, told RTP in an interview.

The book in question arises from a project between the Communication and Society Research Centre and RTP, whose aims have been to reclaim the memory of the Northern Production Center since its inception; produce a study that allowed us to build a historical perspective of RTP; identify and listen to relevant actors in the history of RTP-Porto, constitute a chronology of the main moments and events; as well as identify and listen to some personalities outside of RTP.
